Maintaining participant engagement and reading nonverbal cues over video or phone calls can also be more demanding compared to in-person mediation. Successful Remote Mediators develop strategies to foster trust, set clear ground rules, and utilize digital tools to facilitate open communication. Outstanding listening abilities, neutrality, emotional intelligence, and clear written and verbal communication help you stand out in this role. These competencies ensure effective, impartial facilitation of virtual negotiations and foster positive outcomes for all parties involved.
