JD:
In your role, you will:
• Lead and coordinate the execution of activities within the Loads group
• Define the scope of work and validate the level of effort
• Ensure work quality (First Time Right) by providing timely and continuous guidance to Loads group personnel
• Act as a peer reviewer and technical approver
• Ensure a common approach across various programs
• Take ownership of problem resolution within the Knowledge Domain for all product lines
• Lead and coordinate the aircraft-level investigation and problem-solving process using the Problem-Solving Sheet (PSS) methodology and close the loop by documenting lessons learned
• Maintain a strong relationship with the leadership team to advise and provide constructive feedback
• Lead and coordinate Loads group activities related to the Knowledge Domain, strategic technology development, and innovation
• Define a vision, strategy, and development plan for the Loads group Knowledge Domain
• Plan, update, and expand the Loads group section in Bombardier's Engineering System (BES)
• Develop and document Loads group activities in Bombardier manuals and ensure compliance with BES processes and best practices
• Propose the implementation of technical innovations based on industry trends through advanced design and strategic technology
• Lead and influence strategic technology initiatives related to loads and stay informed about new technologies to reduce loads
• Provide advice and recommendations on emerging techniques to improve aircraft efficiency, process efficiency, reduce loads analysis cycle time, while maintaining quality standards
• Lead and coordinate talent development within the Loads group
• Identify and develop engineers and DADs in the loads domain
• Identify skill gaps and plan/manage their closure
• Focus on training new employees
• Lead and coordinate discussions with Bombardier Defense and external suppliers
• Influence continuous improvement of the loads assessment process
• Act as the official spokesperson for the Loads group in discussions with Bombardier Defense and external customers
• Lead efforts for development, validation, and verification of Loads group requirements
• Support DR&O development
• Define the company approach for new regulatory elements
• Recommend new, more cost-effective engineering solutions
• Identify cost-saving opportunities for programs in collaboration with the procurement group
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate:
• You hold a bachelor's degree in aeronautics or mechanical engineering. Higher education is an asset
• You have over 20 years of relevant experience in the loads domain within the aerospace industry
• You have more than 10 years of experience leading a team of engineers working on loads assessments, from planning and execution to risk management and project delivery
• You possess strong organizational skills for planning work activities and tracking task execution within budget and schedule constraints
• You demonstrate sound judgment to optimize work scope and define the appropriate quality level
• You have a good understanding of FAR 25 certification requirements. A strong working relationship with Canadian, European, and U.S. certification authorities is an asset
• You have solid experience in static and dynamic aeroelastic loads analysis
• You possess strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to work under pressure
• You have excellent interpersonal skills
• You are recognized as an expert in the loads domain
