What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Livestock Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Livestock Manager, you need a solid background in animal husbandry, livestock health, and agricultural management, typically supported by a degree in animal science or agriculture. Familiarity with remote monitoring systems, data analytics tools, and farm management software is commonly required. Strong problem-solving skills, communication, and self-motivation are essential soft skills for operating independently and making timely decisions. These competencies ensure effective livestock care, operational efficiency, and the ability to respond quickly to issues in remote settings.

What is remote livestock management?

Remote livestock management is the practice of overseeing and caring for livestock using technology such as sensors, cameras, GPS tracking, and software platforms. This approach allows farmers and ranchers to monitor animal health, movement, and environment from a distance, often using smartphones or computers. It improves efficiency, reduces labor costs, and enables early detection of health or environmental issues. Remote management is especially beneficial for large or hard-to-access grazing areas. It is increasingly popular as advancements in agricultural technology make these systems more accessible.

Both roles require animal-related credentials but differ in work environment and industry focus.

What are some common challenges faced in remote livestock management and how can they be addressed?

One common challenge in remote livestock management is ensuring animal health and welfare when you are not physically present. This often requires effective use of technology such as GPS tracking, automated feeders, and remote health monitoring systems. Communication and collaboration with on-site staff or local veterinarians are also crucial for timely intervention and maintenance tasks. Being proactive with regular data analysis and establishing clear protocols can help address issues before they escalate, making remote management both efficient and effective.

Job description

10th June, 2026
Customer Onboarding Specialist
Internal title: Program Enrollment Coordinator | Full Time | US Remote
A bit about us
At AgriWebb our mission is to empower the livestock industry with the best possible tools to feed the world both profitably and sustainably. We are the market leader in SaaS Livestock Business Management and are rapidly expanding, with offices in Australia, USA and UK; and customers in Brazil, South Africa, and New Zealand. Through its Sustainability division, AgriWebb has partnered to launch carbon insetting programs engaging grazing operations on reducing the carbon intensity of beef, and is the lead data partner on some of the largest projects of their kind, working with stakeholders including Nestle Purina, OSI Group and Ducks Unlimited.
Joining us means you'll be working with a group of phenomenal people - from farming experts, to tech groundbreakers, to sustainability gurus - in a down to earth and supportive culture.
Ready to have a real impact on climate change and help us change the future of the livestock industry?
About the role
We're looking for a proactive, people-first Customer Onboarding Specialist to help ranchers successfully adopt AgriWebb within enterprise sustainability and supply chain programs. This is a broad and exciting role that puts you at the intersection of customer relationships, technology adoption, and real-world ranching impact.
You'll work directly with ranchers across the United States to guide understanding, drive product adoption, and support successful project participation. This means leading product demos, helping ranchers understand the value AgriWebb brings to their operation, and ensuring required sustainability project data is submitted accurately and on time.
Success in this role comes from building trust with producers, simplifying complex processes, and helping customers achieve meaningful outcomes. You'll partner closely with internal teams to deliver a smooth and valuable rancher experience from onboarding through ongoing engagement.
This is a great role for someone who loves talking to ranchers, has a passion for agriculture, and wants a varied and broad role in a mission-driven startup environment.
To be successful in the role you will need:
  • An understanding of agriculture or livestock production
  • Experience in customer success, sales, or implementation - in a SaaS or technology environment - would be preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate customers effectively
  • A data-driven mindset with proficiency in CRM tools and other software
  • A passion for problem-solving and a "roll up your sleeves" attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well within a small, fast-moving team with minimal supervision
  • A customer-oriented mindset and a genuine desire to make a difference
Base Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
The indicated pay range is what AgriWebb reasonably expects to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions will be determined based on a variety of considerations such as work location, work experience, industry experience, education, seniority, responsibility level, or similar factors.
Benefits
  • Flexible work, fully remote with regular get-togethers with our US-based team.
  • Supportive and family-friendly work environment with flexible hours
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave (for all parents), paid fertility leave and pregnancy loss leave
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health, dental, vision and life insurance options
  • 401k - 3% company contribution
  • Additional 10 days paid Family Leave
  • A day off for your Birthday
  • Individual annual learning & development budget to spend on whatever you'd like to learn
  • MacBooks and access to leading apps so you can do your best work
  • A range of health and wellness benefits include EAP, personal well-being allowance, flu vaccines, and more
  • Celebrate with a pair of RM Williams boots at 6 months
We are Farmers. Ranchers. Coders. Educators. Listeners. Storytellers. Visionaries. We come from all walks, but we all belong. We all belong because we all believe in the heart of this industry, and the health of our planet.
If you're interested in a role but don't meet 100% of the requirements listed, we encourage you to apply anyway. All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, pregnancy, medical conditions, disability, age or veteran status.
