Location: Remote- must live within 3 hours of Pittsburgh, PA

Job Type: Full Time/Direct Hire

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Green Card only- (No Sponsorship).

The A.C.Coy Company is currently hiring for an Oracle DBA or Application Administrator supporting DB Applications for a full time/direct role. You will be responsible for supporting production, test, and development applications.

Responsibilities

  • Database Administration in Oracle or SQL Server, or Oracle-based ERP Administration
  • Monitoring backup jobs and system alerts and issue remediation
  • Enterprise application and database management
  • Project management functions as a project-team member
  • Installation, configuration, upgrades, patches of Oracle databases and Banner applications
  • Ability to work independently with some direction as well as in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, in addition to outstanding written and verbal communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to initiate and follow through with work responsibilities and to meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and skillsets
  • Ability to correlate fixes available in patches with identified functional and technical issues. Work with Database Administrators to plan for upgrades and patches
  • Basic SQL skills and experience migrating database objects
  • Basic Shell Scripting
  • Ability to execute fundamental database administration tasks to support the campus ERP and related technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support the campus ERP application with strong analytical sense

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (degree highly preferred)

  • 2-5 years' experience as an Oracle DBA or Application Administrator supporting DB Applications
  • Oracle Database Administration and Oracle-based ERP Administration
    • Monitoring backup jobs and implementation of backup strategies
    • Development and implementation of upgrade methodologies
    • Project management duties – research, scope definition, resource and time estimation, risk analysis
    • Installation, configuration, upgrades, patches of Oracle databases and applications
