Location: Remote (Candidates Must Reside in Chicago, IL or Kansas City, MO)

A highly respected law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Docket Specialist to join its team. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely while remaining closely connected to one of the firm's Midwest offices. Candidates must be based in the Chicago or Kansas City metropolitan areas.

The Litigation Docket Specialist will be responsible for maintaining litigation calendars, calculating deadlines, monitoring court activity, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local court rules. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong litigation support experience.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage litigation calendars and docketing systems for attorneys across multiple jurisdictions.

Review pleadings, court filings, notices, and correspondence to identify and calculate critical deadlines.

Monitor federal, state, appellate, and local court rules to ensure accurate calendaring.

Track and communicate upcoming deadlines to attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff.

Review electronic court notifications and update docket records accordingly.

Conduct court rule research and provide deadline guidance to legal teams.

Generate reports and perform routine audits to maintain docket accuracy and compliance.

Assist with filing-related procedural questions and best practices.

Qualifications:

3+ years of litigation docketing experience within a law firm environment.

Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules and procedural deadlines.

Experience with legal calendaring and docketing software.

Familiarity with PACER, CM/ECF, and state e-filing systems.

Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal staff.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

$70,000 - $90,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
