About the Organization

Located in Anaheim, California, Fort Healthcare and Counseling Center is part of a renowned hospital network committed to enhancing the mental health and emotional well-being of our community. Our center offers a comprehensive suite of mental health services for individuals of all ages, integrating therapeutic techniques with medical care to provide well-rounded support. Our team consists of licensed professionals who work collaboratively to deliver exceptional mental health services and cultivate a nurturing environment for both patients and staff.

Work Environment

Our counseling center thrives on collaboration and open communication. Although this role primarily involves remote therapy sessions, you will also have opportunities to engage with on-site resources and meet with other healthcare professionals as needed. Our outpatient office is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support telehealth services, ensuring that you have the tools necessary to effectively manage your caseload. We nurture a culture of innovation, promoting ongoing professional development through training and workshops in evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and ongoing screeners to evaluate patients' mental health needs, developing tailored treatment plans that address individual challenges.
  • Provide individual counseling sessionsโ€”both short-term and crisis interventionsโ€”to support patients through immediate emotional distress and long-term therapeutic goals.
  • Lead and facilitate therapeutic groups and educational workshops designed to promote mental well-being, covering topics such as stress management, coping strategies, and emotional resilience.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teamsโ€”including nurses, psychiatrists, and social workersโ€”to coordinate holistic care that reflects the interconnectedness of physical and mental health.
  • Engage actively in outreach programs and community mental health initiatives to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health, participating in wellness events and campaigns.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of patient progress and therapy outcomes, adhering to strict ethical and legal standards to protect patient confidentiality.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse array of patients who present various mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to trauma-related disorders and mood instabilities. Our center serves individuals from varied backgrounds, including children, adolescents, and adults, offering therapists the unique opportunity to shape their practice to meet a broad spectrum of needs.

Qualifications
  • Must hold an active Californian state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field is required.
  • Strong understanding of the mental health landscape specific to hospital and outpatient settings, demonstrating a grasp of how to navigate the complexities of patient care.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster meaningful connections with patients and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Ability to manage a dynamic caseload in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing patient care outcomes.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in outpatient clinical settings or hospitals, particularly with diverse patient groups.
  • Previous work in crisis intervention or experience handling high-acuity patients is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and patient tracking.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The annual salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000, commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
  • Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings plans, generous paid time off, and holiday leave.
  • We offer continuing education opportunities and professional development support to help you grow your skills and advance in your career.
  • Access to hospital resources such as libraries, wellness programs, recreational activities, and employee events.
