Job DescriptionOverview

We are seeking a Proposal Manager Energy - Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.

Your role
  • An integral part of our US Nuclear team supporting both our Commercial Nuclear and Federal markets as we expand our portfolio.

  • AtkinsRealis US Nuclear is focused on the US federal and commercial markets with expertise in new nuclear engineering services, nuclear operations, process design engineering, waste management, characterization, transportation, disposition and highlevel waste technologies.

  • An experienced Proposal Manager with a strong background in federal government contracting to drive strategic growth initiatives and lead the development of compliant, compelling proposals.

  • Reports to the Chief Growth Officer and is responsible for managing the entire proposal process from receipt of an RFP/RFQ, RFI/EOI, or similar request to final submission.

  • Manages all proposal planning and coordination activities to include scheduling proposal projects, assigning contributors, running review gates, and managing production plans aligned with client requirements and deadlines.

  • Assembles, leads, and directs a multi-disciplinary team, unblocks subject matter experts, and escalates risks to ensure timely completion of proposals in close collaboration with the assigned Capture Manager.

  • Supports storyboarding, content creation and management, and formatting, ensuring proposals are clear, concise, and persuasive.

  • Conducts structured quality reviews, verify compliance with client requirements, and manage final assembly and submission, including portal requirements.

  • Gathers and formats information, prepares clear and concise proposals in response to client needs, and managing proposal submission deadlines.

  • Builds successful business relationships by delivering a value proposition that is attractive to both customers and prospective business partners.

  • Develops, maintains and builds a strong professional network and customer relationships.

  • Coordinates company resources in the planning, development, and submission of proposals and related market responses.

  • Participates in strategic planning with leadership team.

  • Responsible for obtaining necessary approvals and implementing the Company's Governance policies.

  • Handles proposal delivery to customers and interfaces with all customers on requests and issues.

  • Understands, in broad terms, customer contracts and business planning activities. Engages corporate resources (e.g., Contracts, Legal and Procurement managers) to ensure contract terms and conditions are appropriately handled.

  • Communicates and engages company technical experts and Operations personnel to develop solutions to customer challenges.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About you
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with experience in project management and team supervision.

  • A minimum of 15 years of proposal development experience with US government programs.

  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-contributor proposals under tight deadlines.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with the Federal Government Acquisition and resultant Proposal Development environments, Department of Energy Environmental Management/NNSA and/or Office of Science experience is desired.

  • Commercial Nuclear experience is desired.

  • Proposal Management processes and tools.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted proposal workflows and content libraries is increasingly valued.

  • Key account management.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are very important, both within the internal AtkinsRealis team and interfacing with customers.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced presentation skills.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Expected compensation range is between $113,000 - $188,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
