We are excited to announce an opening for a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Silver Wing Counseling Center, located in Lawrence, Kansas. This is a fully remote position focused on providing comprehensive mental health care through telehealth services. You will play a vital role in assessing clients, creating individualized therapy plans, and facilitating therapeutic interventions that empower patients to improve their mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' mental health status, history, and treatment needs during virtual sessions.
  • Establish and implement personalized treatment plans that align with evidence-based approaches, catering to clients’ unique challenges.
  • Facilitate regular counseling sessions via telehealth, employing various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based strategies.
  • Provide clients with essential tools and coping strategies to address their mental health issues and improve overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and other healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care and appropriate referrals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment interventions in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills, share insights, and improve service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this position, you will primarily support clients experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including but not limited to substance abuse issues, anxiety disorders, depression, and eating disorders. Your role will involve understanding the socio-cultural factors affecting your clients and delivering culturally competent care that respects and acknowledges their backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
  • A current and valid license to practice as a mental health counselor in the state of Kansas (LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW).
  • A minimum of four years of counseling experience in a mental health setting or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of various mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct both individual and group therapy in an inclusive and culturally responsive manner.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) software and computer applications essential for remote counseling practices.
