Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's psychological well-being, leading to tailored treatment strategies.

  • Provide a range of therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy in both individual and group settings to address various emotional and behavioral concerns.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at fostering community support and enhancing coping skills among participants.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and various healthcare professionals to ensure a well-rounded approach to patient care, focusing on integrated health methodologies.
  • Manage crisis situations with a calm demeanour, providing immediate support during mental health emergencies.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and local community resources available for additional support.

  • Engage in professional development activities, including participating in case conferences and team meetings to continually update your knowledge and skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with adults facing various mental health conditions, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and personality disorders. Your efforts will directly influence the emotional and psychological well-being of these individuals, guiding them toward healthier coping mechanisms and improved overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as an LCSW, LCPC, or LCMFT in Kansas, affirming your competency to practice independently.
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, preferably in a similar mental health counseling role.
