Under the direction of the Executive Director of Clinical Performance Acceleration, the Senior Managing Consultant provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program direction to advance the development and optimization of clinical tools and supporting processes.
This role ensures the delivery and sustainment of evidence-based, standardized solutions that improve patient outcomes, enhance clinical workflows, and drive consistency across the care continuum. In partnership with clinical, operational, and system leaders, the Senior Managing Consultant aligns initiatives to organizational priorities and achieves measurable improvements in quality, service, and cost performance.
The Senior Managing Consultant leads cross-functional teams and advances the Mercy Care Model by enabling consistent, patient-centered, data-driven care delivery across all settings. The role is accountable for translating strategy into practice, ensuring adoption and long-term sustainability, and driving performance through data-informed decision-making and strong stakeholder engagement.
Position Details:
Required Education: Masters in Nursing or Healthcare related field.
Required Licensure/Certification: RN / NP license/certification.
Required Experience: Strong Clinical Nursing background with Adult Med/Surg or ICU experience preferred. 3 or more years experience in leading projects, initiatives or clinical operations at a progressive health system or hospital.
Required Other: Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage complex initiatives across multiple teams and priorities. The Senior Managing Consultant demonstrates advanced proficiency in data management and analysis, including the use of spreadsheets and reporting tools, and translates data into actionable insights. Strong written and visual communication skills are essential, with the ability to develop effective presentations and materials that clearly convey strategy, progress, and impact to diverse audiences.
Preferred Education:
Doctorate in Nursing or Healthcare related field.
Preferred Experience: Medium to large hospital organization or integrated delivery system and Epic Experience, Data/Opportunity Analysis, Lean, Change Management.
Preferred Other: Project Management Professional, SCRUM Master, Informatics, Nursing Specialty certification, Lean or Six Sigma, Evidence Based Practice and Financial Acumen.
