Remote Lean Consultant information

What is a remote lean consultant?

A Remote Lean Consultant is a professional who helps organizations improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes by applying Lean methodologies, all while working remotely. These consultants typically analyze current workflows, identify areas for improvement, and guide teams through Lean principles such as value stream mapping and continuous improvement. They use video conferencing, collaborative tools, and data analysis software to deliver their services without being physically present at the client’s location. This remote role allows organizations to access Lean expertise regardless of geographic location, making process improvement more accessible and flexible.

How does a remote lean consultant effectively collaborate with on-site teams to drive process improvements?

Remote Lean Consultants typically use a combination of virtual communication tools, regular video meetings, and shared project management platforms to stay closely connected with on-site teams. They often facilitate workshops, lead value stream mapping sessions, and monitor progress through digital dashboards, ensuring that all stakeholders remain engaged and aligned. While being remote can present challenges like limited visibility into daily operations, successful consultants proactively build strong relationships and establish clear communication protocols to maintain momentum and accountability throughout the improvement process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote lean consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Lean Consultant, you need expertise in Lean methodologies, process improvement, and data analysis, often backed by a degree in engineering, business, or a related field and Lean Six Sigma certification. Familiarity with digital collaboration tools, project management software, and data visualization platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and facilitation skills set top performers apart in this role. These abilities are crucial for effectively guiding remote teams, driving efficiency, and ensuring sustained process improvements across diverse organizations.

The Solutioning Consultant is responsible for owning the strategy, design, and delivery of advanced automation and AI-driven solutions that transform business processes at scale. This role works at the intersection of technology, strategy, and innovation-partnering closely with business leaders to identify high-impact opportunities, architect agentic frameworks, and bring the art of the possible to life.

Partner with the best

AI Solutioning Consultant role co-leads the development of an enterprise-wide enablement program that teaches employees how to design solutions with AI in mind-elevating the organization's digital and AI literacy.

As a Solutioning Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing processes, workflows, and operational pain points to determine the best-fit automation or agentic solution.

  • Translating business problems into solution architectures centered around AI agents, orchestrations, and modern automation capabilities.

  • Architecting conceptual AI-driven solutions, including agentic frameworks, workflow automations, integrations, and user experiences.

  • Evaluating solution options across low-code/no-code tools, enterprise AI platforms, integration layers, and data sources.

  • Developing prototypes, concept demonstrations, and reference architectures to showcase the art of the possible.

  • Ensuring designs align with enterprise standards for security, compliance, data governance, and scalability.

  • Leading the build-out of AI and automation solutions in partnership with engineering, integration teams, and data specialists.

  • Ensuring solutions are thoroughly tested, documented, and prepared for operational rollout.

  • Providing ongoing enhancements and optimization recommendations based on business feedback and solution performance.

  • Serving as a trusted advisor to business executives, translating complex AI concepts into clear, actionable insights.

  • Facilitating workshops, ideation sessions, and roadmap planning with business units and technical teams.

  • Supporting Product Management in defining capabilities, features, and user requirements for future AI/automation tools.

  • Working closely with Data, Architecture, Integrations, Cybersecurity, and Product teams to ensure solution alignment and technical readiness.

  • Partnering with Change Management and Training teams to ensure smooth adoption and organizational readiness.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Have 7-10+ years of experience in solution engineering, automation, consulting, AI product development, or enterprise digital transformation.

  • Have strong experience architecting solutions using AI, automation, low-code/no-code platforms, and integrations.

  • Have ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders, translating requirements into actionable solution designs.

  • Have demonstrated experience evaluating business processes and designing scalable, technology-enabled improvements.

  • Have excellent communication, consulting, and facilitation skills.

  • Have experience with platforms such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, UIPath, Gemini/Vertex tools, or similar automation/AI ecosystems.

  • Have background in process optimization (Lean, Six Sigma) or digital transformation.

  • Have understanding of data governance, responsible AI, and enterprise security requirements.

  • Have experience developing training or upskilling programs.

  • Have strong strategic thinking paired with hands-on solution engineering capability.

  • Have natural curiosity for emerging technologies and AI trends.

  • Have ability to influence and collaborate across highly matrixed environments.

  • Have passion for teaching, evangelizing, and empowering others to embrace AI-driven innovation.

  • Have bias toward action, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
