Job description

Job Summary:

Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services is seeking a highly skilled Lean Specialist to join our team. As a Lean Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, streamlining processes, and enhancing operational efficiency within our organization. Your expertise in Lean methodologies and your ability to identify areas for improvement will contribute to the overall success and competitiveness of our MRO operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Lean initiatives: Develop and implement Lean methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement across various departments and processes within the MRO organization.
  • Process analysis and improvement: Identify inefficiencies and areas of waste in operations, maintenance, and repair processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions to optimize productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Value stream mapping: Conduct value stream mapping to visualize and analyze end-to-end processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to achieve operational excellence.
  • Lean training and coaching: Provide training and guidance to employees at all levels on Lean principles, tools, and techniques. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and Lean thinking throughout the organization.
  • Data analysis: Collect and analyze data to measure process performance, identify trends, and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Use data-driven insights to make informed recommendations for process improvements.
  • Change management: Act as a change agent by facilitating and leading change initiatives, ensuring buy-in from stakeholders, and managing resistance to change. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment conducive to Lean practices.
  • Project management: Lead and participate in Lean projects, ensuring timely execution and successful implementation of Lean solutions. Collaborate with project teams to achieve project objectives and deliver tangible results.
  • Collaboration and communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, operations, and quality, to identify opportunities for collaboration and process optimization. Effectively communicate Lean concepts, progress, and results to stakeholders and management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Lean methodologies, such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Prior experience implementing Lean principles in an MRO aviation industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading Lean projects and achieving measurable results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong change management skills, with the ability to drive and manage change initiatives.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations, standards, and safety practices is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
