Job Descriptionย 

We are seeking a licensed landscape architect with 8-10 years of experience who is dedicated to cultural landscape preservation. Individuals with skills and knowledge to lead and support comprehensive planning and design projects, apply National Park Service (NPS) and Secretary of the Interior's (SOI) standards for cultural landscapes, and work with interdisciplinary teams to support resilient design and stewardship are highly encouraged to apply.ย ย This position provides opportunities for professional growth, exposure to a variety of project types, and immediate opportunities to contribute to the work of the firm.ย 

Quinn Evans is a nationally recognized firm for our expertise in cultural landscapes and historic places. The Preservation Planning team at QE collaborates across disciplines and practice areas to create resilient planning and design solutions that connect people to heritage of urban and rural places. From revitalization and interpretation of historic sites to the preservation of places significant to Indigenous peoples, we strive for enduring stewardship in our work. Our award-winning portfolio includes cultural landscape reports, master plans, site designs, maintenance guidelines, historical studies, National Register and National Historical Landmark Nominations and climate adaptation consultation. Collaborative decision-making on projects is a hallmark of our process whether working with a vast national park to discreet city sites across the nation.ย 

Keyย Roles and Responsibilitiesย 

  • Coordinate project teams, schedules, and budgetsย 
  • Facilitate collaborative projects including multiple disciplines, stakeholders, and the publicย 
  • Research,ย creative synthesis ofย archival documentation, historic mapping,ย and analysis to inform responsible planning, design, and interpretationย for a broad range of cultural landscape types and scalesย 
  • Interact with the client and regulatory personnelย 
  • Contribute to the preparation of Cultural Landscape Reports (CLRs), Cultural Landscape Inventories (CLIs), and other preservation planning documents, including site history, existing conditions assessment, and treatment recommendationsย 
  • Develop preservation strategies and design guidance that align with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards while accommodating contemporary use, accessibility, and resilience.ย 
  • Conduct field investigations and landscape documentation, including condition assessments, photographic surveys, and identification of character-defining features.ย 
  • Prepare illustrated reports and graphic documentation including maps and diagrams to clearly communicate landscape evolution and preservation recommendations.ย 

Qualificationsย 

  • Professional degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.ย 
  • 8-10 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, landscape preservation projects, and heritage conservation.ย ย 
  • Demonstrated experience leading internal project teams through different project phases and experience coordinating with external consultant teams and agency partners.ย 
  • Highly organized and professional with the ability to create workplans, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, manage budgets, staffing, and projections.ย 
  • A collaborative, passionateย dispositionย and comfort with iterative workflows.ย 
  • Strong communicationย and presentation skills for both internal collaboration and client relationships.ย 
  • Strong working knowledge of NPS guidelines and SOI standards for the treatment of cultural landscape isย required.ย 
  • Proficiencyย in software including, but not limited to, the Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.ย 
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Revit, and Serif Affinity is a plus.ย 
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of landscape construction, detailing, and craft.ย 
  • Familiarity and fluency with resilience or climate adaptation related work is preferred, but not required.ย 

Travel Required:ย 

Travel to a range of project and office locations, including remote locations, isrequired,travel expenses are provided. Candidates should have the capacity and be willing to work outdoors in all seasons through various kinds of weather, in rural or urban environments, for field surveys and meetings.ย 

Salary Range Amount

$62,400 - $92,560 Annually
