Join rockITdata as a Training Lead / Instructional Designer supporting one of the nation's largest federal healthcare modernization initiatives. In this role, you'll lead the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive training programs that prepare healthcare professionals, system administrators, and Government stakeholders to successfully adopt new technology solutions. Working closely with Organizational Change Management, Communications, engineering teams, and customer leadership, you'll develop engaging learning experiences that promote user confidence, operational readiness, and long-term adoption of enterprise healthcare systems.
This position is ideal for an experienced instructional design professional who enjoys translating complex technical concepts into engaging learning experiences while helping organizations successfully adopt innovative technologies that improve healthcare services for our nation's Veterans.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training programs supporting enterprise healthcare technology implementations.
  • Develop curriculum, facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids, quick reference materials, user manuals, and other learning resources.
  • Partner with subject matter experts, Business Analysts, engineers, and Government stakeholders to translate technical requirements into effective learning content.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and develop learning strategies that support organizational readiness and technology adoption.
  • Coordinate training schedules, instructor assignments, learning logistics, and course delivery activities.
  • Deliver instructor-led training sessions, virtual workshops, demonstrations, and train-the-trainer programs as required.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and learner feedback while recommending continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with Organizational Change Management and Communications teams to align training initiatives with stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Maintain training documentation, course materials, learning management records, and curriculum updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Recommend innovative instructional technologies and adult learning techniques that improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience designing and delivering technical training or instructional programs supporting enterprise technology implementations.
  • Experience developing instructor-led training, eLearning, virtual learning, and blended learning solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional systems design (ISD), and curriculum development methodologies.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Learning Management Systems (LMS), or similar instructional development tools is preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), ATD Master Trainer, or other instructional design certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations, health IT, telehealth, or Federal program management is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
