Job description

Direct Counsel represents a respected law firm in Pasadena, CA who is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney or Senior Counsel with 8+ years of experience in Trusts & Estates and Private Client matters to join its growing practice. The firm is flexible regarding hybrid or remote arrangements depending on the candidate.

This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who can independently manage sophisticated trusts and estates matters, work closely with Partners, and take on increasing leadership responsibilities within the practice group. The position also offers the opportunity to mentor and oversee junior attorneys while contributing to the long-term growth of the team.

Responsibilities
  • Handle sophisticated trusts and estates and private client matters from inception through completion
  • Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on estate planning, wealth transfer, and related matters
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, trusts, and related instruments
  • Work closely with Partners on complex client matters and strategic planning
  • Lead, mentor, and performance manage a small team of 2–5 Associates
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide high-level client service
  • Manage deadlines and workflow in a billable environment
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Trusts & Estates / Private Client experience
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and client counseling skills
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys preferred
  • Interest in growing into a larger leadership role within the firm
  • Ability to maintain a 1,800+ annual billable hour pace
Compensation

Salary Range: $140,000+ annually, depending on experience, plus bonus opportunities and additional incentive compensation.
