We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team at Superior County Behavioral and Psychological Center. This is a full-time position based in Bakersfield, California, with the flexibility to work remotely. You will be part of a dedicated community health clinic that provides mental health services to a diverse patient population, focusing on comprehensive patient care and individualized therapy.

Our work setting is designed to promote work-life balance, allowing for remote implementations, which empower our therapists to tailor their work environment for optimal productivity and comfort. Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring you can dedicate time to both work and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments to gauge the severity, frequency, and impact of mood disorder symptoms, using structured interviews and standardized assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with clients to co-create personalized treatment plans, ensuring that the plans align with their therapeutic goals and preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to promote positive mental health outcomes.
  • Educate clients and their families on mood disorders and provide guidance on therapeutic approaches, medication management, and self-care techniques to enhance treatment shifts.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate client progress throughout the therapeutic journey, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as warranted by clinical findings.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers, ensuring a holistic approach to patient management.
  • Stay abreast of current developments, best practices, and research within the field of mental health, particularly concerning mood disorders.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring a comprehensive record of client interactions and treatment progress.

  • Advocate for clients by promoting understanding, acceptance, and access to necessary mental health resources to ensure equitable care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with individuals experiencing a variety of mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. Our clientele is diverse, encompassing various age groups and backgrounds. Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist in California.
  • Experience and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, specifically CBT and DBT.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding psychopharmacology and collaborating effectively with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals for comprehensive care delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of establishing rapport with clients from varied backgrounds, and demonstrating cultural competency in therapeutic practices.
