Job description

An established, upscale hospitality company in the South Bay is expanding is Sales team and is currently seeking an Event Manager.

EVENT MANAGER


Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and someone who genuinely loves bringing an event together?
Our Event Manager will take the vision created during the sales process and help turn it into reality.
From weddings and milestone celebrations to corporate gatherings and private events, you will work closely with clients and our internal teams to coordinate the details necessary to create a seamless and memorable experience.
This position is ideal for someone who loves the planning, organization, communication, and execution side of events and understands that no detail is too small when it comes to someone's most meaningful moments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process.
  • Build strong relationships with couples, families, corporate clients, event planners, and other event hosts.
  • Guide clients through event details, timelines, food and beverage selections, layouts, guest counts, special requests, and other planning needs.
  • Coordinate weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, meetings, and private events.
  • Create and maintain detailed event information and ensure all departments have accurate and timely communication.
  • Partner closely with culinary, banquet, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Conduct planning meetings, site visits, tastings, and final event walkthroughs as needed.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively address potential challenges before they arise.
  • Manage multiple events and timelines simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ensure all event details are accurately communicated and executed.
  • Maintain consistent, polished, and responsive communication with clients.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience and recommend additional services when appropriate.
  • Be present for events as needed to ensure a smooth transition from planning to execution.
  • Follow up with clients following events and help foster long-term relationships and referral opportunities.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in event management, wedding planning, catering, conference services, or hospitality events.
  • Experience planning weddings and social events within a hotel, resort, venue, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple events, clients, deadlines, and changing priorities simultaneously.
  • A calm, solutions-oriented approach when challenges arise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to make clients feel heard, cared for, and confident.
  • Experience collaborating with culinary, banquet, operations, and sales teams.
  • Knowledge of event management, catering, CRM, or hospitality software is preferred.
  • Self-motivation, reliability, and exceptional follow-through.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, celebrations, and creating memorable guest experiences.
