Mercy Vale Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality mental health services to clients dealing with a diverse range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, substance abuse issues, and eating disorders. You will leverage your expertise to assess, plan, and implement tailored therapeutic interventions that foster positive client outcomes.

This position is rooted in a remote work setting that allows our counselors to provide care from the comfort of their own space while ensuring a work-life balance. Utilizing teletherapy and secure digital communication, our therapists connect with clients across Washington State, ensuring access to mental health resources for those who may otherwise face barriers to care. Our outpatient office facility offers state-of-the-art telehealth technology to support effective therapy sessions.

• Conduct intake assessments to evaluate client mental health status and identify their needs through thoughtful conversations and structured screening tools.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are grounded in client goals, evidence-based practices, and therapeutic techniques.
• Provide ongoing therapy sessions, utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to help clients navigate their challenges effectively.
• Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and documenting all interactions in our electronic health records (EHR) system.
• Build and sustain therapeutic relationships, empowering clients with coping strategies and tools to enhance their mental health resilience.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive care and assist clients in accessing additional resources.

Your role will involve working with a varied patient demographic, including adolescents, adults, and families. You will engage clients battling a wide spectrum of mental health conditions—ensuring that services are culturally sensitive and accessible. Our ideal candidate is committed to recognizing and respecting the cultural backgrounds of their clients and incorporates this understanding into the therapeutic process.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a current and valid state license as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW.
• A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in a mental health counseling role.
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Ability to deliver both individual and group therapy using inclusive, culturally responsive approaches.
• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to establish rapport with diverse individuals.
• Proficient in EHR systems and digital tools required for efficient patient documentation.
• A commitment to upholding ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

• Previous experience working in a remote counseling capacity.
• Specialized training or certification in trauma-informed care or other relevant therapeutic modalities.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary team setting, contributing to holistic health strategies.
