Job description

Alliant Health Solutions, a "Best Place to Work" and "Healthiest Employer", seeks a Data Specialist, End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)

The data specialist reports to the Data Manager, ESRD, and supports all operational activities related to the End Stage Renal Disease Quality Reporting System (EQRS) and associated Centerโ€™s for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) data requirements. This role provides direct technical guidance to ESRD providers, confirms data accuracy and reporting workflows, and resolves help desk operational inquiries, guidance, and general data reconciliation activities. The Specialist collaborates closely with the ESRD Data Manager to ensure implementation of processes and procedures that meet CMS contract deliverables and uphold data integrity across the ESRD Networks.

Responsibilities for this position include:


  • Provide frontline technical assistance to dialysis facilities and transplant centers on data entry and navigation within End Stage Renal Disease Reporting System (EQR) and other CMS systems.
  • Respond to provider inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with providers who submit data to the Network.
  • Verify accuracy of EQRS data by reconciling CMS reports, including alerts, notifications, and other data quality indicators.
  • Process and monitor EQRS service tickets submitted by facilities, ensuring accuracy of Forms 2728, 2746, Near Matches, and patient admissions.
  • Process and enter CMS forms and reports into EQRS as assigned by the ESRD Data Manager.
  • Work with the Manager to ensure all facilities and transplant centers complete and submit annual CMSโ€‘2744A and CMSโ€‘2744B forms.
  • Address and support EQRS help desk activities, including intake, documentation, and resolution of provider issues.
  • Provide guidance to dialysis and transplant center staff on data entry procedures, EQRS functionality, and CMS reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support Network initiatives, projects, patient tools, and documentation needs.
  • Track, process and file forms and reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis as assigned.
  • Manage incoming faxes, and dissemination of documents necessary for data processing.
  • Provide operational support guidance for the implementation of data processes and procedures developed to meet CMS contract deliverables.
  • Work with the Data Manager to monitor data trends, identifying inconsistencies, and ensuring highโ€‘quality data across the ESRD Network.
  • Implement and Support quality assurance activities and contribute to internal data tracking, auditing, and processโ€‘improvement efforts.


Knowledge, skills and abilities required for the role include:

  • Knowledge, skill and ability to meet and exceed customer service needs and build relation with customers, internally and externally at all levels

  • Ability to work independently and with a team to work collaboratively under the guidance of the Data Manager while maintaining independent task ownership


Education, experience and training required for the role include:

Required:
  • Associateโ€™s degree in information services or data related field
  • 1-3 years of healthcare and/or medical office experience
Preferred:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in information systems or related field
  • Prior experience in information services or dataโ€‘related functions
  • Prior experience in ESRD/Dialysis/Transplant
