Job description

Black Fox LLC is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to support cybersecurity risk assessments for public sector and commercial clients. This is a part-time remote opportunity with flexible hours supporting NIST-based cybersecurity assessments, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives, and cybersecurity documentation reviews.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior cybersecurity professionals to evaluate security controls, review technical documentation, participate in stakeholder interviews, document assessment findings, and assist in preparing executive and technical reports.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience supporting government cybersecurity projects while working alongside experienced cybersecurity consultants

Responsibilities
  • Assist with cybersecurity risk assessments
  • Review security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Evaluate documentation against NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
  • Support control reviews using NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-171
  • Document assessment evidence and findings
  • Participate in stakeholder interviews and workshops
  • Assist in developing executive and technical reports
  • Maintain project documentation and action items
  • Support remediation tracking and risk documentation
  • Collaborate with senior cybersecurity consultants
Required Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of cybersecurity, IT security, or GRC experience
  • Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
  • Understanding of NIST SP 800-53 or NIST SP 800-171
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • U.S. work authorization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security+ certification
  • CISSP Associate or CISSP
  • GRC platform experience
  • CJIS, FedRAMP, or CMMC experience
  • Government consulting experience
  • Experience conducting cybersecurity assessments
