About the Role: 

The Global Payroll Manager leads the execution and continuous improvement of Arclin's global payroll operations. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day payroll processing across multiple countries, ensuring compliance, driving operational excellence, supporting payroll systems and HRIS initiatives, and developing a high-performing payroll team. The manager partners closely with the Director of Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, Tax, Treasury, and Shared Services to execute the global payroll strategy, support payroll system consolidation, and maintain a scalable, SOX-compliant payroll operation. 

Key Responsibilities 

Payroll Operations & Leadership 

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations across assigned countries and legal entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. 

  • Manage payroll calendars, processing schedules, funding activities, off-cycle payrolls, bonuses, commissions, and year-end activities. 

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Payroll Analysts and Senior Payroll Analyst while building cross-training and succession plans. 

  • Monitor payroll KPIs, service levels, and operational performance, implementing corrective actions where needed. 

Payroll Systems & Process Improvement 

  • Support the Director of Payroll in payroll system consolidation, implementation projects, and long-term technology roadmap initiatives. 

  • Partner with HRIS and IT on system enhancements, integrations, UAT, parallel testing, data validation, and process automation. 

  • Maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, workflows, and process controls to improve consistency and scalability. 

Payroll Governance & Compliance 

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations. 

  • Support SOX controls, internal and external audits, payroll reconciliations, and documentation. 

  • Ensure payroll data integrity, security, and adherence to internal control requirements. 

Global Payroll Operations 

  • Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, Tax, Benefits, Treasury, and Shared Services to support payroll operations globally. 

  • Manage payroll vendor relationships, monitor service-level agreements, and resolve operational issues. 

  • Support acquisitions, divestitures, and onboarding of new legal entities into payroll operations. 

Training, Communication & Change Leadership 

  • Train payroll team members on policies, procedures, system enhancements, and compliance updates. 

  • Support organizational change initiatives, payroll transformations, and continuous improvement efforts. 

  •  Communicate payroll process changes and operational updates to stakeholders. 

Reporting & Analytics 

  • Analyze payroll metrics, labor costs, overtime, payroll exceptions, and operational trends. 

  • Provide recommendations that improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and employee experience. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field; CPP certification preferred. 

  • 7–10 years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll; global payroll experience strongly preferred. 

  • 3–5 years of payroll leadership experience. 

  • Experience supporting payroll implementations, system consolidations, HRIS integrations, and Shared Services environments. 

  • Working knowledge of Workday, UKG, ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, SAP, payroll tax systems, HRIS platforms, and timekeeping systems. 

  • Strong understanding of SOX controls, payroll compliance, internal controls, and audit requirements. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
