• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for geriatric clients to identify individual needs and formulate effective care plans.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing the emotional challenges faced by older adults, including those related to grief, loss, and significant life transitions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement comprehensive treatment plans that prioritize client-centered care.
• Provide education and support to staff and families on maintaining the emotional well-being of elderly individuals, employing evidence-based strategies.
• Deliver specialized grief and loss counseling for clients and their families dealing with end-of-life issues, fostering an environment of trust and understanding.
• Lead cognitive stimulation activities and design mental health interventions that promote mental acuity and emotional resilience among the elderly.

The primary clientele includes seniors grappling with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma from loss, and other psychosocial stressors associated with aging. You will engage with a diverse population, requiring a keen understanding of cultural sensitivities and personalized approaches tailored for individuals from varied backgrounds.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid License as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing counseling services focused on geriatric populations.
• Training or certification in geriatric mental health and understanding age-related issues.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality therapeutic services to elderly clients experiencing an array of mental health challenges.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions suitable for older adults.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for building rapport with clients and their families.
