Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Azure Counseling Services, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough mental health assessments for senior clients to identify their unique care and support needs.
  • Providing individual and group counseling sessions to address a wide range of emotional challenges related to aging, such as grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

  • Facilitating grief and loss counseling for clients and their families, particularly for those dealing with end-of-life issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will primarily be on providing mental health support to seniors, addressing their unique psychological and emotional challenges. Here, you will encounter diverse cases, from individuals coping with the effects of aging to those managing significant life changes or losses. Your work will ensure that these elderly clients receive the understanding and support they need to thrive in their later years.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • A minimum of four years of recent, relevant experience in counseling elderly individuals, particularly in scenarios focused on mental health support.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of evidence-based interventions tailored to the mental health needs of seniors.
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective connections with elderly clients and their families.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional specialized training in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
  • Proven experience with telehealth practices and electronic health record systems.

Compensation and Benefits
