To thrive as a Remote Geriatric Care Manager, you need a background in nursing, social work, or gerontology, often supported by relevant degrees and certifications such as Care Manager Certified (CMC). Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and case management software is typically required. Outstanding communication, empathy, and problem-solving abilities help build trust and effectively coordinate care for elderly clients and their families. These skills and tools are vital for ensuring high-quality, holistic care and effective advocacy in a remote setting.

How much do geriatric care managers charge?

Geriatric care managers typically charge between $75 and $200 per hour, depending on experience, location, and the complexity of services provided. This role is especially helpful for families who live far away from their aging loved ones or need expert guidance navigating complex eldercare issues.

How do geriatric care managers get paid?

Geriatric care managers are typically paid through client fees, which can be hourly, flat-rate, or retainer-based. They may also receive payments from insurance reimbursements or healthcare organizations, especially if they hold certifications or work within care teams. Compensation varies depending on experience, location, and the scope of services provided.
