SPR Packaging, part of the Armando Alvarez Group, is a leading manufacturer of polyethylene flexible packaging. With more than 70 years of expertise, SPR serves diverse markets including ice, hygiene, frozen foods, towel & tissue, lawn & garden, and agriculture. Our Rockwall, TX facility integrates extrusion, flexographic printing, and converting under one roof, enabling us to deliver fast, innovative, and sustainable packaging solutions to customers across North America.

Position Summary

The Account Manager is responsible for developing strategic customer relationships and driving revenue growth across key packaging markets. This role requires strong knowledge of flexible packaging and the ability to lead complex commercial discussions with large manufacturing customers.

Job Duties

Business Development & Growth

  • Drive year-over-year growth in assigned accounts and markets
  • Identify, pursue, and close large new opportunities
  • Develop market entry strategies aligned with SPR leadership
  • Lead pricing, terms, and contract negotiations

Account Ownership

  • Manage strategic and high-volume accounts independently
  • Build executive-level relationships at customer organizations
  • Ensure strong customer service and delivery performance by coordinating closely with Customer Service, Operations, and Quality teams
  • Resolve complex service or supply issues with minimal oversight

Market & Technical Expertise

  • Provide technical guidance on polyethylene film structures, extrusion processes, flexographic printing, and converting capabilities
  • Advise customers on sustainability initiatives such as PCR, downgauging, and recyclability
  • Monitor competitors and share insights with SPR leadership
  • Represent SPR at trade shows, industry groups, and innovation meetings

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and support onboarding of junior sales representatives
  • Share best practices in prospecting, account development, and negotiations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in targeted markets such as hygiene, frozen foods, towel & tissue, and shrink bundle film
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Packaging, or Engineering).
  • 5+ years of sales or account management experience in flexible packaging, plastics, or manufacturing.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding multimillion-dollar sales targets.
  • Strong negotiator with executive presence.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to spot and develop long-term growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communicator across technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
  • Proficiency in CRM and data-driven account planning.
  • Location: Based initially in the Dallas/Rockwall area to establish sales knowledge, customer relationships, and market expertise. Eligible for remote-based work once performance and market ownership are proven.
  • Travel: 40–60% for customer meetings, trade shows, and site visits.
  • Mindset: Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, capable of owning large accounts and delivering consistent growth.
