Job description

Vaxxinova US is seeking an individual to join our finance team as an Accountant in Willmar, Minnesota.

About the role: The Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s accounting and financial operations through accurate financial processing, reporting, analysis, and compliance activities. This position works collaboratively across departments to ensure timely and reliable financial information while supporting operational and business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, payroll, tax, or other accounting functions as assigned.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain financial records and accounting transactions.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities.
  • Assist with compliance related to company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Process and review accounting entries and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain information and resolve accounting-related matters.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests and financial reviews.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and support implementation of accounting procedures and systems.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Perform other accounting, finance, and administrative duties as assigned. As appropriate, coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Extensive knowledge, understanding, and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IFRS
  • Highly proficient with accounting software and MS Office and Excel
  • Active listening and customer service orientation
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
