Job description

Enterprise Merchant Credit Analyst
North - Remote
This role requires strong financial analysis experience with merchants in the Payments or Commercial Banking industry.

The Enterprise Merchant Credit Analyst role underwrites and reviews merchant applications for credit card payment processing, providing additional layers of review and dissection to find approval solutions and drive increased submission volumes. This role requires strong financial analysis experience.
What you'll do:
  • Underwrite and review new merchant submissions, auto approved submissions, and graduated underwriting submissions for merchant credit card payment processing service, submitted by sales partners and merchants to NAB.
  • Make verbal and written recommendations to management consistent with NAB's risk appetite.
  • Provide all sales partners with a communication channel via phone support as well as an additional layer of review and discretion to find a solution for accounts that have been pended, declined, or withdrawn.
  • Conduct financial analysis to provide detailed recommendations, discussion papers, and creative risk mitigation strategies, and provide solution focused reviews for high risk, restricted, and prohibited merchant submissions.
  • Help train and develop team members, and provide guidance to lower-level team members on a day to day basis.
  • Regularly handle high risk/high volume accounts, and analyze a wide variety of applicants and business types in multiple credit card processing environments, including both card present and non-card present applicants.

What we need from you:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum five (5) years of commercial underwriting experience or commercial risk mitigation experience in the bank card/merchant payment processing industry.
  • 2 Years of financial analysis experience with writing assessments.
  • Must be comfortable and confident in handling a position of authority when making underwriting decisions, as well as executing accurate judgment in regards to interactions with Sales Partners and merchants over the phone and through email.
  • Ability to adapt priorities for peak periods to ensure consistency of service levels for sales partners and merchants.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule in support of departmental needs.

Salary Range: $75,000-$97,000
