Familiarity with flight planning software, real-time tracking systems, and communication tools is typically required. Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are vital soft skills in this role. What are Remote Flight Operations Controllers?

Remote Flight Operations Controllers are professionals responsible for monitoring, managing, and coordinating aircraft operations from a remote location, rather than from an on-site control tower or operations center. They use advanced communication systems and software to track flights, communicate with pilots, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Their duties often involve responding to emergencies, updating flight plans, and facilitating efficient air traffic movement, all while working remotely. This role is critical for supporting unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) as well as traditional aircraft, especially in situations where on-site management is not feasible.
