Summary of Responsibilities: The Company Controller is responsible for

  • Overseeing all financial accounting processes and financial reporting to the project level as directed by the Chief Financial Officer including
    • Month-end close processes.
    • Journal entries, account reconciliations
    • Preparation of income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement
    • Maintaining the GL and chart of accounts
  • Assisting the Chief Financial Officer and other senior managers to ensure that all company operations personnel are informed of, and stay within, each project’s budget;
  • Supporting the Chief Financial Officer in his interactions with the outside company’s accounting firm in all tasks related to
    • Its review/audit of the company’s internally-generated financial reports; and
    • Its preparation of all annual state and federal tax returns and related reports;
  • Working directly with the company’s lender(s) to ensure compliance with all lending covenants and reporting requirements and keeping the Chief Financial Officer aware of any compliance-related concerns;
  • Managing the company’s third-party vendor in its duties regarding the company’s payroll and any related employee benefits;
  • Managing company staff’s duties regarding proper accounts payable entries and regular, reliable payment cycles to keep the company current on all payment obligations; and
  • Handling other specific tasks and assignments as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.

This position requires a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, as well as the ability to manage the company’s software and payment applications and also analyze financial data to identify potential cost reductions and/or optimizations.
