Are you our next Government Relations Manager?

Government Relations Manager focused on federal policy to be part of a fast-paced team that excels at collaborative strategy and individual implementation.

This role is responsible for advancing and protecting the company's interests through strategic government relations, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs initiatives. The position monitors and analyzes emerging legislative and regulatory issues, proactively shaping and advocating for the company's policy positions with key stakeholders at the state level and within the community.

The role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with government officials, industry associations, community leaders, and nonprofit organizations to support the company's "license to operate" and enhance its reputation. It also involves contributing to political strategy, including supporting PAC initiatives and advising on industry and trade organization engagement.

In partnership with internal teams, particularly Public Affairs, this role develops and executes integrated strategies to influence public perception, align messaging, and address complex, cross-functional issues. The position collaborates with global colleagues to identify policy trends, coordinate stakeholder engagement efforts, and ensure consistent, effective communication that supports business objectives across key operating regions.

Location: Position may start as a remote/virtual position based in Washington, DC, but will transition to full-time in-person Washington DC office by early 2027. Position reports to the Director of Federal Government Relations.

What will you do?

Proactively develop and advance Mosaic's position to a wide range of stakeholders. Map key stakeholders and conduct regular targeted outreach. Identify, assess, and understand opportunities and challenges related to the advancement of Mosaic's license to operate. Serve as advisor to industry and trade organizations as needed and play an integral role in the political strategy and activities of the company at the federal level. Foster and cultivate new and existing relationships that benefit and increase goodwill toward the company. Help guide MosaicPAC strategy.

Partnering with internal teams to achieve objectives and execute Mosaic's stakeholder engagement strategy

Manage issues affecting multiple functional groups, which will include collaborating with and providing strategic public affairs council to leadership, developing multi-disciplinary public affairs and stakeholder engagement plans, and ensuring consistency and synchronicity in communications, government relations, stakeholder outreach and community relations. Work with members of the worldwide Public Affairs team in Corporate, Florida, Canada, and Brazil to identify significant policy trends and issues and help craft and deliver the Mosaic story in ways that increase support for operations and maintain license to operate.

  • Strong research and analytical skills to assess the impact of proposed policy and develop effective strategies.

  • Ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, industry representatives, and community organizations.
