Job description

Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Director of Product Management

You will:

  • Work with a team of world class engineers, product managers, data scientists, and operations to deliver safe monitoring of the fleet and our passengers at scale
  • Develop the product roadmap to get ahead of customer and business needs, while being responsive to emerging, high priority field events
  • Build strong partnerships with operations, systems engineering, systems safety, and product data science to build experiences that deliver safe
  • Connect the product roadmap to our long term commercial goals, ensuring we can scale the program, while maintaining a high quality bar, and achieving our long term cost goals
  • Manage a team of PMs overseeing Remote Assistance, Rider Support, Waymo Roadside Assistance, Regulatory Reporting, and Mission Monitoring, grow the team, and represent the product area internally and externally

You have:

  • 10+ years of product management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering transformational product impact, starting with building a vision and decomposing it into concrete, actionable plans with cross-org alignment
  • Strong customer empathy, including for internal operations customers
  • Experience as a budget owner that has scaled a business to better unit economics through focus on product cost drivers
  • Influential Leadership: Experience managing a team as well as complex stakeholder environments; from internal stakeholders like operations, systems safety, and executive leadership to external stakeholders like regulators and policy makers

We prefer:

  • Experience in a regulated industry, working on a product where safety was a top priority
  • Experience working on AV, robotics, or products that have a real world, operational component
  • MBA or equivalent experience

Travel requirements:

  • Monthly to quarterly visits to our domestic operations
  • Biannual international travel to our operations in the Philippines
