I. JOB SUMMARY
The Enterprise Data Architect and Technical Lead is a strategic and hands-on leadership role within the Enterprise Information Management (EIM) team. This position is responsible for defining and driving the enterprise data architecture vision for scalable, high-quality data solutions. The role combines deep expertise in data modeling, middleware, MDM, and visualization with the ability to lead through influence-collaborating closely with ETL developers, data engineers, and BI developers across a multidisciplinary environment to drive outcomes.
The successful candidate will oversee the design and implementation of the Enterprise Data Warehouse - inclusive of data products (EDW), enterprise integration layer (ie, middleware), MDM, and ensuring that data platforms are aligned with business objectives, optimized for performance, and governed by best practices. This role will also guide the technical execution of data projects, manage resource allocation, and foster collaboration across functional and IT teams.

Data Architecture, MDM, Middleware & Strategy
โ€ข Own the architecture, implementation, and delivery of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
โ€ข Knowledgeable on middleware & ETL technologies and ability to partner with vendors to implement capabilities
โ€ข Deep understanding of MDM technologies and how to integrate into an organizational operational processes
โ€ข Translate business requirements into scalable data architecture and actionable technical plans
โ€ข Define and enforce data standards, lineage, and attribute mapping across systems
โ€ข Design logical and dimensional data models (e.g., data products such as Customer360) to support enterprise reporting and analytics
โ€ข Build and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary and metadata repository
โ€ข Conduct in-depth data analysis using SQL and other tools to validate and audit data quality
โ€ข Ensure adherence to best practices in data governance, security, and performance optimization
Collaboration & Communication
โ€ข Work closely with functional partners and IT business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
โ€ข Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
โ€ข Partner with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration across systems and platforms

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience in a technical or business discipline.
  • 10-15 years' experience with following tools and concepts
    • Databases such as SQL Server / Oracle
    • ETL or Middleware software such as Informatica, Mulesoft
    • Columnar databases such as Snowflake / Vertica
    • Data Modeling tools such as ERWin or ER Studio
    • Processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data
    • Data movement and transformation technologies
    • Version Control software such as TFS, CVS or GIT (preferred)
  • Strong analytics skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Strong time management, organization, and execution skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong collaboration skills required to effectively work across a diverse group including executives, managers and subject matter experts
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to get tasks done
  • Prior experience in the following areas is highly desirable
    • SAP functional modules (Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Warehouse Management, Procure to Pay)
    • Delivering BI / DW solutions to end users in the pharmaceutical industry

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information
The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from [$155,500 to $188,200]. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
