Job description

Enterprise Data Management Architect

Position Overview

As an Enterprise Data Management Architect at Modigent, you will provide strategic leadership for the design, development, and ongoing evolution of Modigent’s enterprise data architecture and data strategy. You will define how data is modeled, governed, integrated, and consumed across our multi-OpCo environment to enable reliable reporting, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision making. This corporate role partners closely with technology, finance, operations, and business stakeholders to increase the utilization of data analytics while ensuring data quality, consistency, and scalability as Modigent continues to grow.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Modigent’s enterprise data architecture and long-term data strategy.
  • Design and govern data models, data flows, and data standards that support consistent, high-quality information across operating companies and core platforms (including Procore, BuildOps, and Sage Intacct).
  • Establish and promote data governance frameworks, including data quality rules, ownership models, metadata management, and master data management approaches.
  • Partner with integration, analytics, and business teams to ensure data is fit for purpose for operational reporting, financial reporting, and advanced analytics use cases.
  • Define reference architectures and patterns for data integration, data lakes/warehouses, semantic layers, and analytics platforms.
  • Support the Horizons Program and other transformation initiatives by providing data architecture guidance during design, migration, and implementation phases.
  • Evaluate current-state data landscapes, identify gaps and technical debt, and develop roadmaps for future-state capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technology vendors and internal teams to select, implement, and optimize data platforms and tools.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, data dictionaries, standards, and knowledge assets that enable sustainable operations.
  • Promote increased utilization of data analytics by enabling self-service reporting, trusted data products, and clear data access patterns.
  • Serve as a technical advisor on complex data-related issues and provide guidance to development, analytics, and business teams.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None (senior individual contributor role with significant technical and strategic influence). Provides guidance and direction to data, analytics, integration, and implementation teams.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise data architecture, data management, or related fields, with hands-on design and implementation experience (not just oversight). Experience in multi-entity, multi-system environments preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Physical Demands: Primarily office-based (or hybrid/remote) with occasional travel for workshops, stakeholder meetings, or project support.
  • Work Environment/Safety: Professional corporate environment. This is not a safety-sensitive position.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in enterprise data architecture, data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), and data governance.
  • Experience designing and implementing data strategies that support analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud data architectures, data lakes/warehouses, ETL/ELT patterns, and semantic/reporting layers.
  • Understanding of master data management, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
  • Ability to work effectively with integration architectures and multi-system environments (experience with ERP, project management, or field service platforms a plus).
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills — able to translate complex data concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving adoption of data standards and best practices.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate business needs and long-term architectural integrity.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in construction, mechanical services, facilities management, or multi-entity project-based organizations.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Sage Intacct, Procore, BuildOps, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Cloud data platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Relevant certifications in data architecture, data management, or cloud platforms.
