Manager, Learning Platforms & Digital Commerce (“Manager of Online Services”)

Location: Remote, Eastern or Central Time Zone
Type:

Overview

The Manager of Learning Platforms & Digital Commerce is responsible for the strategy, administration, support, and continuous improvement of the organization's online learning ecosystem and digital product delivery platforms.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the Learning Management System (LMS), online storefront, digital learning content operations, user experience, vendor relationships, and platform integrations. The successful candidate will serve as both a strategic leader and working manager, helping scale a rapidly growing training and compliance business.

This position is ideal for someone who has progressed from instructional design or learning technology into platform management and leadership, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where they can build processes, improve systems, and drive growth.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting online learning platforms, digital learning operations, ecommerce platforms, or related business systems.
  • Experience administering and supporting a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience deploying and managing online learning content.
  • Experience supporting digital product delivery, ecommerce platforms, online service portals, or customer-facing technology platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting, systems administration, and user support experience.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders, customers, vendors, and end users.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Moodle, Gnosis Connect, or similar LMS platforms.
  • Experience with Articulate 360, Storyline, Rise, Captivate, or other eLearning authoring tools.
  • Experience with SCORM, xAPI, or other learning content standards.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, compliance, certification, workforce development, or continuing education programs.
  • Experience managing webinars, virtual events, and online training delivery platforms.
  • Experience working with document management and workflow systems.
  • Experience supporting API-based integrations between business systems.
  • Experience with HRIS, workforce management, credentialing, or employee management platforms.
  • Previous people leadership or team management experience.
  • Graphic design, instructional design, or digital content development experience.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Learning Platform Management

  • Own the administration, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the organization's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Manage course deployment, learner enrollments, reporting, certifications, and platform enhancements.
  • Ensure a high-quality user experience for customers, learners, instructors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and coordinate resolution with vendors and support providers.

Digital Commerce & Online Services

  • Manage and optimize the organization's online storefront and digital product delivery processes.
  • Support the publication, maintenance, and lifecycle management of online training products.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to improve customer experience, purchasing workflows, and digital product accessibility.
  • Monitor platform performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and growth.

Content Operations

  • Oversee the development, deployment, maintenance, and updating of online learning content.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to transform compliance, regulatory, and training content into engaging digital learning experiences.
  • Support content rebranding, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure learning content functions properly across learning and commerce platforms.

Systems & Integrations

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to support integrations between learning, ecommerce, customer, and workforce management systems.
  • Assist with automation initiatives related to user provisioning, reporting, course assignments, and data synchronization.
  • Support ongoing platform enhancements and technology modernization efforts.

Leadership & Vendor Management

  • Lead and mentor team members while helping build and scale a growing department.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and third-party support providers.
  • Establish processes, documentation, and operational best practices.
  • Serve as a key partner to executive leadership in defining the future vision for online services.
