Job description

Patient Support Representative (Remote)Overview

We are seeking compassionate and professional Patient Support Representatives to support individuals who are seeking financial assistance for their prescription medications. This role involves primarily inbound call support, with occasional outbound follow-up calls, helping patients understand available financial assistance options and guiding them through enrollment processes. This is a fast-paced, high-volume patient support program requiring strong customer service skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls from patients seeking financial assistance for specialty medications.
  • Conduct outbound follow-up calls as needed to assist patients with enrollment and case progression.
  • Guide patients through a structured series of questions using program tools and resources.
  • Educate patients on potential out-of-pocket costs, including copays and deductibles.
  • Identify available manufacturer assistance programs, coupons, discounts, and other financial support options.
  • Assist with enrollment into eligible financial assistance programs.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and pharmacy partners.
  • Transfer calls to third-party specialty or retail pharmacies when appropriate.
  • Accurately document all interactions and maintain compliance with program requirements.
  • Work independently in a remote environment while meeting quality and productivity expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare customer service experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of call center experience.
  • Prior experience working remotely.
  • Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism when assisting patients facing healthcare challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Training Information

  • Onboarding training hours are anticipated to be 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM PST, depending on candidate's location.
  • Attendance throughout the entire training period is mandatory.

Schedule

  • Program operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM EST.
  • Shift assignments will be determined upon completion of training based on business needs.
  • Candidates located in Mountain or Pacific time zones should anticipate later shifts.
  • Shift schedules are subject to change based on program needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
