Specialty Pharmacy | Team Leadership | Healthcare Operations

Shields Health Solutions is seeking a motivated, results-driven leader to join our growing Patient Support Center. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving performance, and delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced specialty pharmacy environment.

You'll oversee daily operations, coach team members, and ensure high-quality patient support and service level performance.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and manage a team of Patient Support Associates
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and development
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training
  • Motivate team members in both remote and onsite environments
Patient & Operational Excellence
  • Ensure medication access through refills, prior authorizations, and financial assistance
  • Manage support across hospitals/clinics to ensure timely patient care
  • Maintain service level goals and quality standards
  • Oversee pharmacy workflows (claims, deliveries, coordination of care)
Operations & Collaboration
  • Conduct system audits and manage workflow efficiency
  • Partner with hospital stakeholders through regular meetings
  • Lead team meetings, track performance, and identify improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on projects and process enhancements
Administrative
  • Manage PTO, timekeeping, and reporting
  • Coordinate training and system access
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive healthcare data
Qualifications Required
  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration + CPhT certification
  • 3+ years pharmacy technician experience (specialty preferred)
  • Leadership experience
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred or in progress)
Skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • Operational and project management expertise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Experience with pharmacy/EMR systems (Willow, QS1, RX30 a plus)
  • Highly organized, patient-focused, and detail-oriented
  • Travel
    • Up to 20% travel for remote roles outside core locations
