IT - DES - Database Administrator - Advanced Database Administrator SQL Location: Remote Interview Process: 1 round, Virtual/Online Duration: 12+ Months Employment Type: Contract (C2C / W2) Experience Required: 7+ Years Work Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident. No relocation allowed. Project Scope: We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server) to support large-scale application migration and modernization initiatives.

This role involves transitioning databases from legacy environments to modern platforms, including on-premises and cloud environments, while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance. The DBA will play a critical role in supporting both migration efforts and ongoing database operations, working closely with application, infrastructure, and business teams. Key Responsibilities: Migration Planning & Execution Assess existing databases and determine migration readiness Develop and execute database migration strategies across environments Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth transitions Monitor migration processes and resolve issues to minimize downtime Perform schema conversions, data transformations, and validation checks Database Administration Configure, manage, and maintain SQL Server environments Perform backup and restore operations and ensure data availability Optimize database performance during and after migration Support day-to-day database operations and troubleshooting Security & Compliance Implement encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms Manage database roles, permissions, and security configurations Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory standards Maintain data integrity and confidentiality across systems Performance Optimization Tune queries and improve performance using T-SQL Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks Support database design improvements and normalization Collaboration & Support Work closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders Provide technical guidance and support for database-related activities Assist with training and knowledge transfer as needed Required Skills & Experience: 7+ years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration 3+ years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA 1+ year of experience in database migration across platforms/versions 5+ years of experience with backup and restore operations Strong experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Proficiency in T-SQL Experience managing roles, permissions, and database security Preferred Skills: Experience implementing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) Knowledge of database design and normalization techniques Experience with PowerShell scripting Exposure to cloud-based database environments Additional Expectations Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and collaboration skills Focus on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance database solutions Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) Sunshine Enterprise USA is an "Equal Opportunity Employer-Minorities, Females, Veterans and Disabled Persons".
