GeoLogics is working with a top Aerospace and Defense client looking for a Financial Analyst in Grand Prairie, Texas – 50% Remote

Role: Financial Analyst

Client: Top Aerospace and Defense company

Schedule: 4/10a

Location: Grand Prairie, Texas – 50% remote

Contract Length: Long-term Contract

Education: Bachelors Degree

Rate: $50 to $65 (per hour on a non-benefitted W2 contract)

Job Description:

Provide Financial Analysis and Technical Writing support to our engineering team. Duties include analyzing financial data, generating purchase requests, and providing technical writing assistance to our engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis skills, excellent technical writing abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Basic REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Certification in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a related field (e.g., CMA, CPA)
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, and charts
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insights
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

Basic REQUIRED Microsoft Office Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Excel, including:

  • Creating complex spreadsheets and formulas
  • Developing pivot tables and charts
  • Using Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH
  • Strong skills in Word, including:
  • Creating and editing technical documents
  • Using styles and formatting to create consistent documents
  • Inserting tables, images, and other graphics
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, including:
  • Creating presentations and slides
  • Using templates and themes to create consistent presentations
  • Inserting images, charts, and other graphics
  • Familiarity with Outlook, including:
  • Managing email and calendars
  • Using tasks and reminders to stay organized

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Information Technology and Engineering scope, including cost accounting and financial analysis
  • Familiarity with purchase request generation and support processes
  • Technical writing skills, with the ability to assist engineering teams with documentation and technical writing tasks, including test plans, procedures, final reports and presentations
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles, including actuals vs. plan analysis and variance reporting
  • Experience with financial reporting tools and software, such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and procurement
