Senior Editor - NGB Executive Secretariat

Location: Arlington, VA / Washington, DC area, including NGB, TARC, Pentagon, ANGRC, Joint Base Andrews, and authorized telework locations
Work Arrangement: On-site/hybrid as authorized; remote work is not permitted
Clearance: Secret required; TS preferred 
Employment Type: Full-time
Status: Contingent upon contract award

Position Summary

Summit Technologies is seeking a Senior Editor to provide senior-level editorial quality control, writing support, correspondence review, fact-checking, formatting oversight, and executive document support for NGB Executive Secretariat staff action products.

Responsibilities

  • Review senior-leader correspondence and staff action products for quality and completeness.
  • Ensure documents meet DoD, NGB, Army, Air Force, and applicable correspondence standards.
  • Provide editing, writing, proofreading, copyediting, research, indexing, and fact-checking support.
  • Advise Action Officers and Workflow Managers on document quality and formatting.
  • Support templates, style guidance, training materials, SOPs, and editorial process improvements.
  • Coordinate editorial workflow to protect tasker suspense dates.
  • Review complex, high-visibility, or sensitive documents prior to routing or final action.
  • Interface professionally with senior military and civilian officials.
  • Maintain confidentiality due to the sensitivity of information processed through NGB executive channels.
  • Support archive, library, and document repository functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Library Science, Education, History, Public Policy, or related field preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of relevant experience in writing, editing, research, publications, policy support, executive correspondence, or staff action support.
  • Strong familiarity with official correspondence standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make timely judgments and work under compressed deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CAC and Government system access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience briefing or supporting senior leadership.
  • Experience within NGB or National Guard mission environments.
  • Experience with DoD and NGB correspondence and document formatting standards.
