Job Summary

The Case Manager serves as the primary point of contact for law firms and plaintiffs throughout the funding process. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills to manage case files, evaluate case documentation, and coordinate the flow of information across settlement advance transaction process. The role is responsible for overseeing case files, maintaining relationships with law firms, and funding and discount decisions within their authority.

Case Intake & File Management

  • Receive and review applications for settlement advances.
  • Gather necessary documentation from plaintiffs and attorneys, including police reports, medical records, insurance information, and demand letters.
  • Coordinate document execution for funding agreements and lien filings.
  • Provide clear and empathetic communication to clients regarding application status, requirements, and funding process.

Case & Relationship Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in case management and CRM systems.
  • Serve as lead point of contact law firm relationships.

Compliance & Risk Control

  • Ensure all cases are processed in accordance with company policies, state regulations, and ethical guidelines.
  • Track outstanding liens and monitor repayment status post-settlement.
  • Flag and escalate potential risks or discrepancies to management.
  • Process repayments according to company policy.

Funding & Discount Authority

  • Exercise authority for approving settlement advances, disbursements, and discounts within established thresholds.
  • Identify exceptions and recommend adjustments to management when outside authority limits.

Team Support & Mentorship

  • Work closely across all departments to ensure seamless execution of funding transactions. Facilitate communication and coordination among all parties involved.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2+ years of experience in legal funding, legal services, financial services, accounting or a related field.
  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, legal studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with law firms, attorneys, paralegals, or plaintiff clients preferred.
  • Basic understanding of personal injury litigation, case lifecycles, and settlement advance or legal funding processes; funding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with plaintiff clients and law firms throughout the intake and funding process.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-management skills with the ability to build positive relationships with law firms and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with strong data entry, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM and case management systems (such as Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn compliance requirements, financial service workflows, and internal funding procedures quickly.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) candidates preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements

  • Less than 5% of the time, but occasional travel may be necessary.
