• Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate patients' mental health needs, crafting tailored treatment plans that align with their unique challenges.
• Provide short-term individual counseling, employing crisis intervention strategies to support patients dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship conflicts.
• Facilitate therapy groups and workshops, which may address topics such as coping skills, emotional regulation, and resilience, to empower patients and promote collective healing.
• Collaborate actively with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure holistic and cohesive care for each patient, sharing insights and updates as necessary.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives to elevate mental health awareness, participate in wellness events, and foster connections with local organizations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring detailed documentation of patient interactions and treatment outcomes.

This role focuses on serving a diverse patient population within a community health clinic framework. You will work with individuals experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including those influenced by socio-economic factors. Gaining a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these individuals is crucial for providing effective support and facilitating meaningful change.

• Active state license in Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; advanced degrees, especially a master’s degree or higher, are preferred.
• Strong understanding of mental health issues commonly faced by patients in community health settings, with a focus on resilience and empowerment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective rapport with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and brief therapy models appropriate for a community counseling environment.
• A proactive approach to time management, allowing for effective handling of a diverse caseload within a fast-paced setting.

• A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in mental health counseling or a related field, particularly in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with patient assessments, crisis intervention, and group therapy facilitation.
• Familiarity with working in a community health clinic or hospital environment is a plus.
