Core Healing Counseling is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in San Jose, California. In this full-time role, you will play a critical part in enhancing the mental health and well-being of our diverse patient community. We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year based on experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Environment

This position is remote, allowing you the flexibility to conduct sessions from the comfort of your own space while remaining connected with our community health clinic's resources. Though primarily remote, you may occasionally collaborate in person with a multidisciplinary team using state-of-the-art facilities to optimize patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to understand patients’ mental health needs and create tailored treatment plans that support their unique journeys.
• Provide individual counseling sessions and crisis intervention services, utilizing evidence-based practices to address a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
• Lead therapy groups and workshops aimed at enhancing emotional well-being and coping strategies, focusing on topics such as stress management, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborate closely with medical teams, patient support services, and community organizations to facilitate coordinated care and improve patient outcomes.
• Engage in proactive outreach initiatives, promoting mental health awareness through community campaigns, wellness events, and educational workshops.
• Maintain detailed and secure documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring the ethical management of patient information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Core Healing Counseling, you will work with a diverse population of clients, including individuals from various cultural backgrounds and age groups. Your role will involve understanding the unique challenges faced by patients within and outside hospital settings, tailoring your approach to meet their specific needs in order to provide effective and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active state license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
• Strong capacity to engage with patients and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary medical team, showcasing exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities and brief therapy models relevant to a fast-paced counseling environment.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development within the field of mental health.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of direct counseling experience, particularly in healthcare or community settings.
• Prior experience in leading group therapy sessions and community outreach programs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.
