To thrive as a Remote Developer Advocate, you need a strong background in software development, technical writing, and public speaking, often supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with developer tools, cloud platforms, APIs, and content management systems—as well as experience using platforms like GitHub and documentation tools—is typical. Excellent communication, community engagement, and collaboration skills are crucial for building trust and fostering relationships with developer communities. These abilities ensure you can effectively bridge the gap between engineering teams and external developers, driving product adoption and user satisfaction.

How does a remote developer advocate typically collaborate with engineering and product teams?

As a remote Developer Advocate, you will frequently collaborate with engineering and product teams through virtual meetings, asynchronous communication (like Slack or email), and shared documentation platforms. Your role involves acting as a bridge between external developers and internal teams, so you’ll often gather feedback from the developer community and relay it to shape product features or identify pain points. Building strong relationships across departments and proactively communicating insights are key to ensuring that developer needs are understood and prioritized, even when working remotely.

Job description

Thrive as a Senior Implementation Consultant, a role designed for elite professionals who possess a high-density skill set in both accounting and software architecture. This position is a premier blend of high-stakes customer-facing delivery and strategic internal influence, serving as a springboard into senior leadership roles within Service Delivery, Strategy, or Operations.

The Opportunity

You will be the dedicated subject matter expert for accounts attached to our highest-value relationships, managing complex, large-scale implementations (often 100+ entities). This isn't just about software setup; it's about managing end to end implementation in a high-stakes ecosystem involving C-suite executives, external accounting partners, and internal engineering teams ensuring they have the confidence in our platform required for it to become the bedrock of their business growth.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Complex Multi-Entity Architecture: Lead end-to-end implementations for large-scale customers, focusing on consolidated reporting, intercompany complexities, and high-volume entity management.
  • Technical Advocacy & Gap Resolution: Identify technical platform gaps for enterprise-level customers and work directly with Engineering teams to develop and implement resolutions.
  • End-to-End Onboarding Management: Orchestrate all attached product onboardings and lead comprehensive employee education sessions to ensure high adoption and value realization.
  • Strategic Service Evolution: Partner closely with Senior Leaders in Service Delivery and Strategy to identify areas of customer friction to supply documented recommendations on product improvements and service workflows.
  • On-the-Ground Consultation: Provide high-touch, 'white-glove' assistance directly within customer business offices when necessary to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years in high-touch software implementation, management consulting, or professional services.
  • Accounting Expertise: 8+ years experience and deep subject matter expertise in accounting principles, specifically regarding multi-entity structures and complex financial reporting.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to translate customer friction into actionable product and process improvements.
  • Project Leadership: A track record of driving multi-party workstreams where external consultants and internal stakeholders must stay perfectly aligned.
  • Travel Readiness: Ability to travel 10%-25% of the time to engage directly with clients on-site.
  • The 'Polish' Factor: Exceptional presence and communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive partner dynamics and act as a trusted advisor to C-suite stakeholders.
