Job Description
The Deployment Support Technician is a hands-on, on-site technical role within the Professional Services organization. You will partner with Project Management, Systems Engineering and the broader professional services organization to deliver value to end-users, channel partners, and OTTO.
Technicians will support system deployment, go-live execution, post-deployment optimizations, and post-deployment stability for complex autonomous mobile robotics (AMR) systems. You will work directly on customer production floors, responding to issues, performing technical troubleshooting, validating system functionality, and supporting user training to ensure smooth and reliable operation. We ask that you have flexibility to work varying shifts, long hours, nights, and weekends to meet the operational needs of customer facilities.
Your goal is to provide customer certainty and confidence by supporting deployed systems and minimizing production downtime. You will work with OTTO Motors' production, engineering, and operations teams, who will provide the support and collaboration needed to streamline your work in the field. When not at a customer site, this role will work remotely out of Texas.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support on-site commissioning and integration of systems, including hardware verification, network setup, software configuration, and safety checks.
  • Complete acceptance testing, document results, and help resolve readiness gaps before go-live.
  • Respond to real-time issues during deployment and go-live periods through hands-on troubleshooting, log review, triage, and escalation to engineering when needed.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance audits, minor repairs, retrofits, and recalls on deployed AMRs.
  • Deliver training to customer personnel on system operations, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with Technical Support, Field Services, and Systems Engineering team members to resolve customer issues and convey field feedback.
  • Manage AMR fleet status, help track repairs, and support documentation updates.
  • Communicate with customer teams, ensuring visibility into deployment status and issue resolution.
  • Support after-hours or on-call coverage as required during the project.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Legal authorization to work in US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Ability to travel across the U.S. and Canada (50-60% of the time).
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical field service, industrial automation, IT/OT support, robotics, or related discipline.
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu).
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, and general connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience with AMR/AGV systems integration.
  • Experience working directly with clients and end-users in operational environments.
  • Experience training users on automated equipment or software.

What We Offer:
  • Health Insurance including Medical, Dental and Vision
  • 401k
  • Paid Time off
  • Parental and Caregiver Leave
  • Flexible Work Schedule where you will work with your manager to enjoy a work schedule that can be flexible with your personal life.
