Position Summary:

The SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Solution Architect is responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) solutions within a federal SAP S/4HANA environment. This role provides functional and solution architecture leadership across SAP IBP Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization (IO), and Response & Supply Planning. The Solution Architect partners with government stakeholders, business leaders, and technical teams to define planning strategies, translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP solutions, and deliver integrated planning capabilities that improve forecasting accuracy, inventory performance, and end-to-end supply chain operations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end solution architecture and functional design for SAP IBP, including Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization (IO), Response & Supply Planning, and integration with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Lead business process workshops and architecture sessions to define future-state planning processes and supply chain planning strategies.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP IBP solutions aligned with SAP best practices and federal SAP S/4HANA architecture.
  • Design and configure Planning Areas, Planning Levels, Key Figures, Attributes, Time Profiles, Planning Operators, Supply Heuristics, Statistical Forecasting Models, Alerts, and Planning Views within SAP IBP.
  • Architect demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, forecasting, and sales and operations planning processes to improve planning accuracy, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Design inventory optimization strategies that balance customer service levels, inventory investment, and supply chain performance.
  • Lead solution design for constrained and unconstrained supply planning, response planning, scenario planning, and exception management.
  • Design and oversee integration between SAP IBP and SAP S/4HANA utilizing SAP-supported integration frameworks, including CPI-DS, Real-Time Integration (RTI), and other enterprise integration technologies.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning (PP), Materials Management (MM), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Transportation Management (TM), Procurement, Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, and technical teams to ensure integrated end-to-end planning processes.
  • Establish solution architecture standards, implementation strategies, configuration governance, and planning best practices.
  • Develop solution architecture documentation, functional design documentation, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Lead solution reviews, architecture governance activities, and design approvals throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Support data migration strategy, testing strategy, cutover planning, deployment activities, and production support.
  • Mentor functional consultants and project teams on SAP IBP capabilities, solution design, and implementation best practices.
  • Travel on rare occasions to client sites to provide on-site support.
  • Adhere to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, including actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 10+ years of SAP Supply Chain Planning experience, including significant experience designing and implementing SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise implementing SAP IBP Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization (IO), and Response & Supply Planning.
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain processes, including Production Planning (PP), Materials Management (MM), Procurement, Inventory Management, and Manufacturing operations.
  • Experience designing and configuring Planning Areas, Planning Levels, Key Figures, Attributes, Time Profiles, Planning Operators, forecasting models, supply heuristics, and planning calculations within SAP IBP.
  • Experience integrating SAP IBP with SAP S/4HANA utilizing SAP-supported integration technologies.
  • Experience leading architecture workshops, gathering business requirements, developing solution designs, and producing architecture and functional design documentation.
  • Experience leading full lifecycle SAP IBP implementations within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, sales and operations planning, forecasting, master scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience guiding cross-functional implementation teams and mentoring functional consultants.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).

Nice to Have:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, federal ERP modernization programs, or Department of Defense (DoD) SAP environments.
  • Experience implementing SAP IBP Control Tower, Supply Chain Control Tower, or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integrations.
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology, Agile delivery frameworks, and DevSecOps environments.
  • SAP IBP, SAP Supply Chain Planning, or SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain certifications.

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $150,000 – $170,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
