Job description

Summary
You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the FMS Sustainment Department of NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND HQ-OSF.

Help
  • You will develop and approve logistic/maintenance requirements analyses.
  • You will review and justify requirements for new support facilities and plan the activation of system support sites.
  • You will plan and manage the actions required for procurement of resources needed for system logistic support.
  • You will conduct on-site review of contractor logistics/maintenance testing and mock-ups.
  • You will review and approve program price outs and budget submissions from logistics element managers during all of the life cycle phases.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating competence in advanced theory, concepts, principles, and practices of all aspects of the broad field of logistics management. 2) Enabling incumbent to serve as an expert for the full range of logistics support elements throughout the life cycle; and to take concluding action on any area of logistics for the assigned weapon system. 3) Having knowledge of Life Cycle Logistics Management System, the system/equipment life-cycle phases and the documentation, analyses, and reviews associated with those phases. 4) Having thorough knowledge of DOD budget processes; administrative relationships within the Navy and DOD; and administrative relationships with the Systems Command and field activities. 5) Preparing rational and logical oral and written presentations to any or all levels of Government and industry management.
