The Docket Coordinator is responsible for executing a wide range of docketing functions in the Risk Management group including, but not limited to, tracking critical deadlines and dates for all matters, and communicating heavily with Legal Practice Assistants, attorneys and paralegals thus, emphasis on a โ€œcustomer-serviceโ€ approach. The candidate must be local to either the Riverside, Ontario, Irvine or Los Angeles office.ย 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain docketing database/calendar of cases for litigation, CEQA, Eminent Domain, Bankruptcy, Code Enforcement and Probate matters.
  2. Create docketing profiles to support workflow processes.
  3. Manage and review records and enter schedules or deadlines into CompuLaw
  4. Review State and Federal court rules as well as research specific judgesโ€™ preferences and standards for date calculations and distribute that information to requestors. ย Perform date calculations, applying jurisdictional rules.
  5. Generate reports detailing deadlines. Generate and proof for quality all routine and specialized docketing system reports, as well as generate and distribute docket reports in accordance with reporting schedule.
  6. Review previous litigation cases in the database for accuracy and enter new cases and clean up database for completed matters.
  7. Recognize conflicting data prior to entry.
  8. Ensure retention of source documents/docket confirmation.
  9. Provide recommendations to the Supervisor to continually improve the firmโ€™s docketing best practices.
  10. Work within deadlines and effectively handle stress.
  11. Establish effective working relationships and appropriately interact with others.
  12. Other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  2. Exercise appropriate judgment regarding sensitive confidential matters.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Working knowledge of iManage and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and etc.)

  8. Litigation calendar software and PACER knowledge.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment and may be performed in a remote or hybrid work setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technology such as computers, phones, and copy machines.

The reasonably expected pay scale for this position with 4 or more years of experience isย is $60,000 - $75,000 annually ($28.85 - $36.06/hour), non-exempt. ย The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidateโ€™s location and experience. ย We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
