Work Environment

This position offers flexibility through a remote work setting, allowing counselors to work from the comfort of their own homes while maintaining a high standard of care. Your work schedule will typically be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and interventions for clients experiencing urgent mental health emergencies and develop crisis intervention plans that reflect their unique needs.
• Deliver immediate counseling services to individuals seeking assistance, ensuring a supportive and understanding approach that fosters trust and healing.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams to ensure client safety during critical situations, utilizing established protocols to manage escalated crises effectively.
• Provide follow-up care and recommendations to clients post-intervention, facilitating long-term support and ensuring a continuum of care that promotes sustained recovery.
• Apply evidence-based crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies to navigate challenging scenarios while ensuring the emotional safety of clients.
• Engage in professional development and ongoing education within the realm of crisis counseling to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on individuals grappling with addiction and mental health issues, including those impacted by trauma and emotional crises. The client population is diverse, encompassing various cultural backgrounds and experiences, necessitating a culturally competent and empathetic approach. You will work closely with clients aged 18 and over, providing support and resources tailored to their specific circumstances and goals.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential issued by the appropriate state authority.
• A minimum of three years of recent, hands-on experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Proven proficiency in crisis counseling methodologies, trauma-informed care practices, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for the development of rapport with clients in distress.
• Ability to perform rapid assessments to identify client needs and develop effective intervention strategies quickly.
• In-depth understanding of ethical and legal standards relevant to crisis counseling, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization or additional training in addiction therapy, crisis intervention, or trauma recovery.
• Experience providing services in high-pressure environments or with clients in acute mental health crises.
• Familiarity with telehealth technologies and remote counseling practices to facilitate effective client interactions.

Compensation and Benefits
