The ServiceNow Product Manager for HR Service Delivery (HRSD) – Lifecycle Events is responsible for the strategic ownership, evolution, and delivery of ServiceNow’s onboarding, offboarding, and employee transition capabilities. This role blends product management discipline, hands-on business analysis, and delivery oversight to ensure employee transitions are seamless, automated, secure, and scalable across a large, global enterprise.

This role serves as the primary bridge between HR stakeholders, Enterprise Services, platform teams, developers, and vendors—owning the full product lifecycle from demand intake through roadmap execution and post-release optimization.

The scope for this role includes Onboarding, Preboarding, Offboarding, Cross-boarding (internal transfers), and the associated automation delivered through ServiceNow HRSD Lifecycle Events.

What You Will Do:

  • Product Strategy & Vision

  • Own and articulate the product vision and strategy for ServiceNow HRSD Lifecycle Events.

  • Conduct market research, platform benchmarking, and trend analysis to identify best practices and new capabilities in employee lifecycle automation.

  • Define and maintain a multi‑year product roadmap aligned to enterprise HR priorities, compliance requirements, and the broader ServiceNow platform strategy.

  • Establish and enforce product governance, including intake standards, prioritization frameworks, lifecycle management, and value realization metrics.

  • Business Partnership & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary executive-facing point of contact for the end-to-end employee transition experience delivered through ServiceNow.

  • Build and sustain trusted partnerships with HR business leaders, COEs, IT, Security, and cross-functional teams.

  • Lead strategic discovery sessions to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, user experience improvement, and risk reduction within onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Act as a thought partner on ServiceNow HRSD Lifecycle capabilities and best practices, guiding leaders toward the right investments.

  • Demand, Stakeholder & Value Management

  • Lead demand management, ensuring transparent and outcome‑driven prioritization across global HR stakeholders.

  • Balance strategic initiatives, compliance mandates, operational priorities, and platform health.

  • Define and track product success metrics including cycle‑time improvement, automation effectiveness, adoption, and user satisfaction.

  • Deliver regular reporting on outcomes, risks, value delivered, and roadmap progress to senior leadership.

  • Product Development & Backlog Ownership

  • Translate product strategy into epics, features, and a prioritized product backlog for HRSD Lifecycle Events.

  • Define feature-level functional requirements, employee journey flows, business rules, and service design in partnership with architects and platform engineering.

  • Lead backlog refinement to ensure user stories are well defined, estimated, and sequenced for development.

  • Maintain clear and high‑quality documentation to support development, testing, support teams, and ongoing operations.

  • Platform Stewardship & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on ServiceNow HRSD and Lifecycle Events capabilities, releases, roadmaps, and best practices.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or retire legacy onboarding/offboarding workflows and customizations.

  • Promote intuitive, employee-centered design across all transition experiences.

  • Ensure all solutions align to platform standards, architectural principles, and long-term scalability.

  • Business Analysis, Delivery & Project Oversight

  • Perform hands‑on business analysis, translating HR business needs into story‑level functional and technical requirements with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Partner closely with developers throughout story development, providing clarification and iterative solution design support.

  • Lead or coordinate functional testing, test case management, and defect triage specific to transition workflows and Lifecycle Events automation.

  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with HR, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Oversee story implementation, release readiness, and post‑deployment validation.

  • Provide light project oversight, managing risks, dependencies, timelines, and cross‑team coordination.

  • What Success Looks Like

  • A clear, outcome‑driven roadmap for preboarding, onboarding, offboarding, and transitions.

  • Predictable delivery with minimal rework due to strong upstream analysis and requirements.

  • High stakeholder confidence and satisfaction.

  • Increased automation and reduced manual, off-platform, or email-based processes.

  • Standardized transition workflows with strong adoption and measurable experience improvements.

  • Transparent, well‑governed backlog and intake process.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, including 5 as a Product Manager.

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery, preferably including Lifecycle Events.
