IT Infrastructure Intern

About the Opportunity:

The IT Infrastructure Intern will assist the IT Infrastructure team in executing on infrastructure remediation projects, especially to ensure cybersecurity compliance, ensuring that our systems and data remain secure from potential threats. The successful candidate provides technical IT Infrastructure support, assists with internal audits, and closes support tickets efficiently. This position requires strong analytical skills, basic knowledge of IT Infrastructure standards and principles, and the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. The successful candidate must possess strong communication and organizational skills.

Location: South Windsor, CT with rotating assignments in all of the Connecticut manufacturing sites

Onsite, 75% Travel within Connecticut (Plainville, Manchester, South Windsor, and Eastford)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams to execute on infrastructure remediation projects.
  • Assist with audits and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Configure network switches to support segregation of operational technology assets from the IT network.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of networking design and components.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in IT systems administration or cybersecurity is beneficial.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed on the shop floor in manufacturing and tool storage environments or in a professional office environment, depending on assigned responsibilities. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn on the shop floor.
  • Environment is climate-controlled, well lit, and reasonably clean. Typical industrial noise levels in manufacturing areas are generally below 80 decibels.
  • Position requires standing, walking, and moving between work areas. Work may involve navigating around equipment, storage areas, and stairs.
  • Position may require occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting or moving materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Work involves direct interaction with tools, materials, inventory, measuring devices, manufacturing equipment, and standard office equipment.
  • Frequent interaction with production teams, engineering, maintenance, quality, and other cross-functional departments is required.
